Jewelry: When selecting jewelry to match the homecoming dress, keep in mind the style of the dress itself. Do not simply go for jewelry that catches the eye of the dance attendee, or pieces she falls in love with first. Remember that the jewelry enhances the dress, not overpowers it.

Hair Accessories: While most girls worry and stress about their hairstyle for the big night, many may not even consider using hair accessories to enhance their homecoming dress. The type of accessory varies greatly depending on the length of hair as well as the style itself, such as whether it is an updo or left down. For example, if the hair is up, consider using jeweled hair pins to secure the bun or French twist. Long, flowing locks look fantastic when pulled back with a rhinestone headband or dainty jeweled barrettes. Even a simple hair bow, in a fabric that matches the dress, adds a crowning touch.

Shoes: Shoes make the outfit, and this especially holds true for homecoming dresses. When choosing the right shoe for the dress, consider how well the shoe matches the dress itself. If the dress is floor-length, then make sure the hem is not too short when wearing a heeled shoe. For dresses with short hemlines, high heels work the best. Some girls find it easier to buy a pair of shoes first, then match the dress to the shoes. Keep in mind that the color of the shoe does not necessarily have to match the primary color of the dress. For example, a black dress with a red sash looks fantastic with a pair of strappy red sandals.

Handbags: A purse is a necessity on a big night such as homecoming, if only to carry a cell phone and lipstick. Usually, the smaller the better. That way, it does not get in the way while dancing. A clutch purse is the perfect handbag to hold the bare minimum. When matching a purse with a homecoming dress, be sure to throw the shoes into the equation as well. By matching the shoes and handbag as closely as possible, the entire outfit pulls together into one cohesive ensemble.
